Dr. Ariga Avanessian grew up in Kamloops, British Columbia, where she attended Thompson Rivers University and completed her Bachelor of Science degree. She was the recipient of the TRU Medal in Science in recognition of her academic excellence. Dr. Avanessian earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of British Columbia, followed by a postgraduate residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD, PGY-1) at NYU Langone Dental Medicine in Seattle, Washington.

Dr. Avanessian is a member of the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia and the British Columbia Dental Association. She has conducted research in the fields of dentistry and orthodontics, with a recent publication in 2023.

Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Avanessian continually broadens her clinical skill set through a wide range of continuing education courses, including Invisalign, Botox, and implant therapy. Over the past two years, she has had the privilege of providing compassionate dental care to remote Indigenous communities in Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Avanessian enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family. You’ll likely run into her at the local coffee shop, along a trail, or in a yoga studio.

Dr. Samin Liaghat was born in Montreal and raised in Vancouver. She completed both her Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor of Dental Medicine at University of British Columbia, where she built a strong foundation in comprehensive dental care. 

With a passion for creating confident, natural-looking smiles, Dr. Liaghat focuses on cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign treatment. She is committed to ongoing professional development and has completed extensive continuing education in cosmetic veneers, implant surgery and restoration, endodontics, and advanced Invisalign techniques. 

Known for her warm, friendly approach, Dr. Liaghat takes pride in helping even the most nervous patients feel at ease through her calm demeanor and gentle care. She believes in building lasting relationships with her patients while delivering personalized, high-quality treatment. 

Dr. Liaghat is a member of BC College of Oral Health Professionals ( BCCOHP), British Columbia Dental Association ( BCDA), and American Academy of Clear Aligners ( AACA). 
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Samin Liaghat enjoys spending quality time with her family, especially with her newborn daughter and beloved Goldendoodle.

Dr. Ashkan Mehjoo was born in England and moved to North Vancouver at the age of five, where he grew up and attended Handsworth Secondary School. He later pursued his studies at Queen’s University, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) degree with distinction. Driven by a passion for dentistry, Dr. Mehjoo relocated to Cork, Ireland, where he earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from University College Cork, graduating with honours. He was honoured with the American Association of Endodontists Award for Excellence in Endodontics upon graduation. After completing his studies, Dr. Mehjoo knew North Vancouver would be his forever home, moving here with his now wife. 

Committed to continuous learning, Dr. Mehjoo actively participates in several study clubs to enhance his expertise, particularly in dental implants and Invisalign therapy. He is a proud member of the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA) and belongs to their Vancouver-based study group, which focuses on the latest advancements in Invisalign treatment. Dr. Mehjoo is a Platinum level provider of Invisalign, reflecting his skill and experience in the field. 

In addition to his general practice, Dr. Mehjoo has a specialized interest in dental implants. He is a dedicated member of the Western Implant and Surgical Excellence (WISE) Institute, where he continues to refine his expertise in the latest dental implant techniques and advancements. Dr. Mehjoo also regularly attends continuing education courses to further advance his skills and stay at the forefront of modern dentistry. In addition to her clinical training, She is certified to apply diode laser therapy to enhance patient outcomes. She holds a Dental Hygiene Diploma along with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology. She is fluent in English, Turkish, and Farsi.
